Flying Pests & The Best Pest Control To Call

March 16, 2019

Flying pests are so annoying! They buzz around your ears and spoil all the fun in your parties. Not to mention they can spread disease and give you their painful stings. There is no doubt, flying pests are either nuisance or health - risk pests. Among these flying pests are the mosquitoes, flies, wasps, and moths.

Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes lead the pack.  Aside from the fact that they are very common everywhere in the world, they are also the most dangerous.  They spread diseases like dengue, malaria, yellow fever, Zika virus, and elephantiasis. Mosquitoes like to be where there is stagnant water, so try to remove old things that can hold water for a long time; things like old cans, old tires, plastic containers, and the like.

Flies

There are over a thousand species of flies, but only a few are pests.  The house fly is the most common one in the homes. Though house flies do not bite, they can contaminate our food upon contact. They carry a number of disease agents which they happen to pick up while feeding on animal feces, other animal secretions, garbage, carcasses of other animals, and any other filthy things you can think of.

Through this, they can transmit diseases like diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, and food poisoning. They can also be such a nuisance as they like to land on our foods and on human skin as well, especially if they see a human with open wounds or sweat. Insecticides, fly swatter, and fly paper can eliminate the presence of the house fly in your homes.  Prevent them from entering your homes by sealing all openings and cracks in your home. Make sure the doors and windows are closed.

Wasps

Wasps are more known as nuisance pests, but some are highly territorial and sting when threatened, as the yellow jacket wasps.  Wasps take the fun out of outdoor picnics and barbecues that it is so hard to tolerate them. The simplest way to avoid wasp infestation is to keep your area clean.  Wasp traps can also be an effective way to get rid of them. You can purchase these at your local stores.

Moths

There are two types of moths that bother us at home: the meal or pantry moths, and the clothes moths.  Both are nuisance and cause damage to our food or belongings. Pantry moths attack dry foods like cereals, grains, rice, flour, and pastas. Clothes moths, on the other hand, ruin our clothes. If your home is infested by any of these flying pests, then it is time to call in the experts.
